    My Dead Pedal Broke

As the title says... My dead pedal just broke off! I can actually see daylight thru the two little holes. Is there any way to re-install them without having to weld them?

My dead pedal broke many many years ago, before we had acquired a welder. I found a bolt, jb welded it to the dead pedal and then used a nut and fender washer to secure it from inside the wheel well.

I don't have any pics of it installed, or from the wheel well, but I just recently sold it so I had pics of the actual dead pedal and the bolt I jb welded in place.

I could have tried to jb weld the bolt to the car but I was doing this by myself and it was easier to apply the jb weld to the dead pedal, put it in place, tighten up all hardware, and let the weld dry. If I had put the jb weld and bolt on the body of the car it wouldn't have stayed in place very easily while I was trying to mount the dead pedal.

I did the same thing when mine broke. Works very well. It sucks becuase when it happens its not the hardware or the dead pedal failing, its actually the bolts ripping holes of the unibody out.

Funny thing is my new carpet should arrive in a few days and I was actually wondering how I would go around it to install, but now I guess I don't have to.

yep. i did the same . just bolted the screw and washer on the top hole. junk yard and find one and take it off. finding the hole for top one is pretty easy just use a screw driver and mark the hole from the inside fender well and bolt it up. gl

My dead pedal broke off in 2005 (!), and master procrastinator that I am I still haven't put it back on, but I plan to someday! At that time, I printed off a brilliant thread here that told exactly how to do so. I found the thread, but the photos are dead now. But you can probably figure out the process from the text.
