  • Anyone have the Skunk2 Megapower catback? Any problems with yours?

So last March I bought this skunk2 exhaust and considering its decently priced and the overall quality, im happy with it. Its a little loud, but I think it sounds good. My application was a 90 integra and this kit is only made for 92/93, but all I had to do was shorten my cat a bit.

Anyway, I've notice that it started rattling really bad recently and I've been messing with it to see if I can make it go away. First of all, the last exhaust hanger on the muffler doesn't have anywhere to hook to on the the car, and the one they supply that you bolt on isn't anywhere near the hanger on the muffle. I might have to weld a hanger so it doesn't flex so much. Also, I have an ASR rear sway bar, and I think this is where the rattle is coming from. It clears the bar just fine but under load, but from a stop it rattles really bad around 1500-1700 rpm. I've put a piece of heavy duty hose in between the bar and pipe and it seems to work fine. Im thinking about grinding a little bit of the lip of the exhaust flange over the sway bar where the two pipes connect and where it hits the sway bar (why then made a flange directly over the sway bar ill never know)

Anyway, just looking to see if anyone had any problems with their S2 catback and what they did to fix it.

same issue just cut the un use leg of the exhaust off and the part that goes directly under the trunk put a piece of hose or rubber gromet and u will have no more noise

Right, the section on the passenger side where they put the 2 hangers, the option of using the mount for 90/91 and 92/93, i cut that piece off for the 92/93 option, and it doesnt rub there anymore. But for the flange that runs over the sway bar, since mine is much thicker than stock it hit that under load so i might trim some of the flange off so theres more of a gap.

Did you do anything for the hanger on the actual muffler? My kit came with a hanger that is suppose to be bolted to the frame for a rubber hanger to hook to the muffler hanger but its like 5 or 6 inches away. Did you do anything with that, or just left it hanging?

          Sweetness. Thanks for the input!

So do you rock the silencer or not? I normally keep it in for DD, but remove for the track. Im thinking about painting the end of the silencer black with some high heat paint so it doesn't look so stupid. Haha
