  • Head gasket

    Hi guys,

It looks like I have a blown head gasket and am looking at replacing it myself. Local shop wants $1200 - $1300.

Where would I find a good step by step thread / instructions for a 1991 Acura Integra GS head gasket RE & RE?

    Thanks in advance,

    J

At the minimum you really should get a Haynes manual from your local parts store.. best thing would be for you to find a copy of the actual Honda service manual online.

Just found the Honda Service manual online and it has a lot of good info, thanks for that tip!

Already have the Haynes manual but thought there may be a good thread or link that someone has used successfully in the past.

I'd definitely use the Honda Service Manual as far as the general procedure and definitely for the torque specs.

Most walkthroughs will be the OEM procedure, just re-hashed. I definitely wouldn't trust online torque specs without double and triple checking. Proper torque specs and torque-increments will make or break a headgasket job.
